I'm very interested in the increasing use of gambling mechanics and symbols in video games, such as on tablet games, or even Super Mario that relies more and more on coins accumulation, and sounds similar to the ones heard in casinos. I believe it is to manage, in the same way as you describe, anxieties connected to our society.
